Room Building Challenge
LEVEL : FORM 2 (Intermediate)
TIME : 1 hour 10 minutes
AIMS : At the end of the lesson, students should be able to fill the task sheet given with the correct adjectives and prepositions.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* One computer per pair of students
* An internet connection
* Web Browser that allows online games.
PREPARATION:
1. Locate the web; http://www.addictinggames.com/habbohotel.html
2. Try to play the games to ensure it is appropriate for the students' level.
3. Prepare task sheet based on the information gathered from the game.
PROCEDURE:
Set Induction (5 minutes)
1. Teacher recaps previous lesson of adjectives and prepositions
2. Teacher introduces topic for today, by deductively points out examples of the students’ seating arrangements and the computer lab’s furniture during lesson. Eg: Linda is seating behind Aisya’s computer cubicle.
3. Teacher distributes task sheet.
Activity 1 (40 minutes)
1. Teacher asks students to sit in pairs.
2. Teacher explains the instruction of information that students should be focusing on while playing the games.
3. Teacher instructs students to launch the web.
4. Teacher directs students to start playing the game and start filling in the task sheet.
Conclusion (15 minutes)
1. Teacher discusses the answers together with students.
2. Teacher verbally emphasizes prepositions and adjectives during discussion.
Follow-up activity:
Teacher assigns homework. Students are required to write a description about their room at home by using appropriate adjectives and prepositions. They are also need to take a picture of their room and paste it next to their description in their composition book. Their description must be between 100 to 150 words.
